Watsup all you cool creeps and creatures! I have been pretty quiet this year, but I’m back baby, just in time for my favorite season! Tonight, I’m sharing with you some personal picks that can bring you out of a quarantine haze and a few flops to not waste your halloween spirit on. So grab a pumpkin beer, turn off the lights and enjoy!
Watch: The Wretched -2019(Hulu) -For a keeps ya guessing scary good time.
Madame of Horror gives it 8/10 bats
Skip: The Getaway -2020(Amazon Prime) -Because when an actress delivers her lines, my first thought shouldn’t be “a man wrote that.”
Watch: The Rental -2020(On Demand) -For a modern twist on a slasher film. Imagine a Michael Myers film that never shows him.
Madame of Horror gives it 7/10 bats
Skip: Crawl -2019(Hulu) -If the idea of an entire movie spent hiding from alligators doesn’t excite you, and you don’t want to spend 1:27 watching something play out that could be summed up in less than 60 seconds.
Watch: Better Watch Out -2016(Shudder) – For babysitter horror at its finest with a splash of Christmas. I rewatched this film the next day.
Madame of Horror gives it 8/10 bats
Watch: Color out of Space -2019(Shudder) – If you’ve ever wondered how Nicholas Cage would have been in The Shining, and want to constantly be screaming “what is happening?!” but in a good way. Total creepfest.
Madame of Horror gives it 9/10 bats
Skip: Slenderman -2018(Prime Video) -Because the fact that it sucked shouldn’t be the only thing I can remember about it.
Watch: Fender Bender -2016(Prime Video) – If you want to ride the line of delicious slasher and shitty script. This movie had me so frustrated to what it could have been, but the parts that worked made it an enjoyable watch.
Madame of Horror gives it 5/10 bats
Watch: Would You Rather -2013(Netflix) – For a fun, if not predictable story of the rich toying with the lower class, or if you were as obsessed with John Heard as I was.
Madame of Horror gives it 7/10 bats
Skip: The Beach House -2019(Shudder) -For 1:28 of your time saved. In its defense, it had some cool moments, but I don’t have the patience.
(Spoiler alert: It was fun watching what felt like 20 minutes of someone walking into the ocean.)
Watch: The Burning –1981(Prime Video) – For a camp slasher that doesn’t take place on a Friday.
Madame of Horror gives it 7/10 bats
Skip: Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound -2015(Shudder) -For the sake of not hating yourself, or knowing what charismatic storytelling sounds like.
Watch: Scream, Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street -2019(Shudder) – For an eye opening and sometimes heartbreaking horror doc about our favorite final boy, Mark Patton.
100% on rotten tomatoes. 10/10 on Madame of Horror.

Til next time,
Madame of Horror
