Michael Perez Entertainment and MP/SO Entertainment are working on a new documentary, focused on the Sleepaway Camp franchise and its cult classic horror villain, Angela Baker.
Michael Perez was a producer on the four hour, in depth documentary, Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. The team was also behind More Brains! A Return to the Living Dead, Pennywise: The Story of It, and Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th.
They have over fifty interviews and hours of behind the scenes footage, along with the original Angela herself, Felissa Rose, signed on as an executive producer. Over thirty five members of the original cast and crew have already agreed to contribute to this project. Among the cast members signed on are Karen Fields (Judy), Paul DeAngelo (Ronnie), Christopher Collet (Paul), Katherine Kamhi (Meg), Desiree Gould (Aunt Martha), Jonathan Tiersten (Ricky), and Owen Hughes (Artie). We really don’t want to miss this documentary seeing the light of day, but it is a passion project, and they need help bringing this vision to life. Sleepaway Camp was a 1983 slasher film, written and directed by Robert Hiltzik. It’s remembered for its campy 80s slasher style and its shocking twist ending. The film sparked a slew of sequels including Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers, and Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland. While Felissa Rose didn’t reprise her role as Angela, the iconic killer was still the focal point of these movies, portrayed instead by Pamela Springsteen.
